Main Effects ANOVA in GLM, GLZ, and PLS

Select Main effects ANOVA as the Type of analysis on the GLM Startup Panel - Quick tab to specify main effects only ANOVA or MANOVA designs. In the subsequent Quick Specs dialog box, you can specify one or more categorical predictor variables. STATISTICA will estimate and evaluate the main-effects-only model. Those types of models are frequently used in the area of industrial experimentation, to screen large numbers of factors in highly fractionalized designs (e.g., 2-level screening designs; see Experimental Design).
