Button Appearance
Classic menus. Right-click on any toolbar button or menu command while the Customize dialog box is displayed (accessible by selecting Customize from the Tools menu) and select Button Appearance from the shortcut menu to display the Button Appearance dialog box.
This dialog box is not available from the ribbon bar.
Image only. Select this option button to display the current option only as an icon (whether it is on a menu or toolbar).
Text only. Select this option button to display the current option only as text (whether it is on a menu or toolbar).
Image and text. Select this option button to display the current option as an icon and text (whether it is on a menu or toolbar).
Description. A detailed description of the currently selected option is displayed in the Description box.
Use default image. Select this option button to use the default icon associated with the current option for its image. Note that either the Image only or Image and text option button must be selected.
Select user-defined image. Select this option button to use a custom icon for the image of the current option. You can also edit and create new icons when this option is selected. Note that either the Image only or Image and text option button must be selected.
Icon Image Box. In the image box, select the icon you want to use to represent the selected option. You can edit the selected icon by clicking the Edit button; you can add an icon by clicking the New button. Note that the Select user-defined image option button must be selected for these icons to be available.
New. Click this button to display the Edit Button Image dialog box, which contains options to edit or add a new icon to the icon image list box. Note that the Select user-defined image option button must be selected for this button to be active.
Edit. Click this button to display the Edit Button Image dialog box, which contains options to edit the currently selected icon in the icon image box. Note that the Select user-defined image option button must be selected for this button to be active.
Button text. The text of the selected option is displayed in this box. To change the text, select either the Text only or Image and text option button, and type the new text into this box. To give the new text an access key, place an ampersand (&) in front of the desired letter. At run time, press Alt together with the letter that you specified to call this option. Note that access keys only work with menu options. You should also verify that no other options in the same menu share the same access key; otherwise they will negate each other.
OK. Click this button to accept all of the changes made and to exit the Button Appearance dialog box.
Cancel. Click this button to exit the Button Appearance dialog box without saving any changes.
