1 Sample t-Test: Interval Estimation - Quick Tab

Noncentrality Interval Estimation and the Evaluation of Statistical Models

Select the Quick tab of the 1 Sample t-Test: Interval Estimation dialog box to access options to compute a confidence interval for Es, the standardized effect size (Hedges & Olkin, 1985; Steiger & Fouladi, 1997) and to compute a confidence interval for delta, the noncentrality parameter of the noncentral t-distribution.

Observed t
In the Observed t box, enter the observed value of the one sample t-statistic.
Sample Size (N)
In the Sample Size (N) box, enter the sample size (N) for the experimental group used in the study.

Conf. Level.  In the Conf. Level box, enter the confidence level for the confidence interval calculation. Confidence limits are presented for two quantities:

Delta
The upper and lower limits are for a confidence interval on δ, the noncentrality parameter of the noncentral t-distribution.
Standardized Effect
These upper and lower limits are for Es.
