Plot Markers/Plot Lines/Plot Areas/Fit Lines/Spike Lines/Conf. Bands/Bar Lines/Bar Areas/Label Lines/Label Frames/Pie Areas/Contour Lines/Surface Colors | Graphs in Statistica consist of one or more plots (that is, they might represent one or more series/sets of data). By default, a different set of colors and patterns is used for each consecutive plot. You can select for each plot (for the first 10 plots) the default point, line, and area colors and patterns of specific plot components. Click on a (numbered) plot component to display the appropriate dialog box (example, Line Properties, Marker Properties, Area Properties) from which you can select the default color and pattern for the component. |
Default fit line | Displays the Line Properties dialog box, where you can specify the type of fit line you prefer on graphs. |
Default conf line | Displays the Line Properties dialog box, where you can specify the type of confidence bands line you prefer. |
Plot labels backgr | Displays the Area Properties dialog box, where you can specify the type of background you prefer for plot labels. |
Line width | Enter the default line width (in points) to use when plotting lines on graphs. |
Marker size | Enter the default point marker size (in points) to use when plotting point markers on graphs. |
Font size | Enter the default font size (in points) to use when placing text on graphs. |
Font face | Select the typeface for the text in graphs. |
Grid Lines/Axis Lines | Displays the Line Properties dialog box, in which you can specify various features about the default grid lines or axis lines, respectively. |
Inside Color/Outside Color | Displays a variety of background color options for the graph. In addition to a selection of predefined colors, you can choose a Transparent background or an Automatic background (the Windows System color). You can also choose from a list of background color styles. Select Style Name to view the list of styles. Select More Colors to display the Color dialog box, from which you can select a custom color. |
Box & Whisker Options | Displays the Box & Whisker defaults dialog box, where you can make changes to the box and whisker graph display. |
Bag Plot Options | Displays the Bag Plot defaults dialog box, where you can make changes to the bag plot graph display. |
Category Overlaid Options | Displays the Category overlaid defaults dialog box, where you can specify options for categorized graphs. |
Overlaid Contour Options | Displays the Overlaid contour defaults dialog box, where you can make changes to the overlaid contour graph display. |
Markers transparency | Use the interactively controlled slider to adjust the transparency of graph markers. Transparency control is a powerful graphical exploratory technique that makes it possible for you to reveal trends hidden in the dense concentrations of data points (especially scatterplots and scatterplot matrices generated from extremely large data sets). The goal is to achieve the optimal density level to uncover patterns obscured by a large number of random points (white noise) that create the "ink blot" effect. Note that Windows metafiles do not support the transparency feature. Note that this is a global option, and affects all applicable graphs created. To use the transparency slider for only a currently displayed graph, use the Markers transparency option in the Graph Options dialog box, Graph - Layout tab. |
Plot areas transparency | Use the interactively controlled slider to adjust the transparency of plot areas, example, histogram areas. Note that Windows metafiles do not support the transparency feature. Note that this is a global option, and will affect all applicable graphs created. To use the transparency slider for only a currently displayed graph, use the Plot areas transparency option in the Graph Options dialog box, Graph - Layout tab. |
Restore Defaults | Returns the options on the Display tab to their default values. |
