Multiple Response Table Results - Options Tab

The selection of options in this group box will determine the detail of results reported in the Summary: Review summary tables and Detailed two-way tables.

Highlight counts > Select the Highlight counts > check box to highlight all counts (raw frequencies) in the table that are greater than the value entered in the corresponding edit field.

Percentages of total count. If this check box is selected, for each cell in the Summary tables and Detailed two-way tables, percentages are computed relative to the total number of responses or respondents in the current table. If the Display selected %'s in sep. tables is not set (see Advanced tab), the percentages will be shown in the same table together with the raw frequencies.

Percentages of row counts. Select the Percentages of row count check box to compute percentages relative to the total number of responses or respondents in the row of the current table. If the Display selected %'s in sep. tables is not selected (see Advanced tab), the percentages will be shown in the same table together with the raw frequencies.

Percentages of column counts. Select the Percentages of column counts check box to compute percentages relative to the total number of responses or respondents in the column of the current table. If the Display selected %'s in sep. tables is not selected (see Advanced tab), the percentages will be shown in the same table together with the raw frequencies.

For multiple response variables and multiple dichotomies, a single respondent (case) may contribute more than one answer, and be counted more than once. The setting of these option buttons will determine whether the totals and percentages reported in the tables will be based on the total number of responses, or the total number of respondents (cases) that contributed to the respective marginal frequency (provided that multiple identical responses were ignored; see the option Count unique responses only on the

Number of responses. Select the Number of responses option button to base the frequencies reported in the margins of the tables on the number of responses. Thus, they will be the sum of the respective reported (i.e., in that row or column) cell frequencies. If percentages were requested, they will be computed with reference to those marginal frequencies.

Number of respondents. Select the Number of respondents option button to base the frequencies reported in the margins of the tables on the number of respondents (cases) that "contributed" to or were counted in the respective column or row (or two-way table, for total frequencies). For multiple response variables and multiple dichotomies, those marginal frequencies will usually not be identical to the sum of the respective reported (i.e., in that row, column, or two-way table) cell frequencies. If percentages were requested, they will be computed with reference to these marginal frequencies of number of respondents. This option is not available if Paired crosstabulation is requested for multiple response variables (via the Multiple Response Tables dialog box - Quick tab).
