Quality Control Charts for Variable Lists - Quick Tab

Select the Quick tab of the Quality Control Charts for Variable Lists Startup Panel to access the options described here. For details regarding these chart types, refer to Quality Control Charts.

The main purpose of the options available in this module are to allow users to efficiently create lists of quality control charts for numerous variables. Note that the standard options for quality control charting will require users to specify the charts one-by-one (of course, they can be automated using Statistica Visual Basic, or the Statistica Enterprise tools). The options available here allow users to review the trends of multiple variables (attributes), for example, in order to examine the patterns in multiple process parameters for a continuous process, prior to applying data mining tools (e.g., for process optimization).

SixGraph with X-bar & R chart
Select SixGraph with X-bar & R chart and click the OK button on the Startup Panel to begin this analysis (you can also double-click SixGraph with X-bar & R chart to start the analysis). This analysis produces a list of SixGraph compound graphs for each selected variable; X-bar charts (for means) and an R (range) charts for the variability of the process can also be requested. Other types of charts for continuous variables are available on the Variables tab.
X-bar & R chart for variables
Select X-bar & R chart for variables and click the OK button to begin this analysis. This analysis produces a list of X-bar charts (for means) and an R (range) charts for the variability of the process. Other types of charts for continuous variables are available on the Variables tab.
Individuals & moving range
Select Individuals & moving range and click the OK button to begin this analysis. This analysis produces individuals & moving range charts for each variable selected for the analyses. In this plot individual observations (sample size of 1) are plotted and you use so-called moving ranges (of adjacent observations) in order to estimate a process sigma and establish control limits. Other types of charts for continuous variables are available on the Variables tab.
C chart for attributes
Select C chart for attributes and click the OK button to begin this analysis. This analysis produces C charts for attributes for all selected variables. In this chart, we plot the number of defectives and it is constructed based on the Poisson distribution, which is also referred to as the distribution of rare events. Other types of attribute charts are available on the Attributes tab.
P chart for attributes
Select P chart for attributes and click the OK button to begin this analysis. This analysis produces P charts for attributes for all selected variables. In this chart, we plot the percent of defectives (per batch, per day, per machine, etc.) as in the U chart. However, the control limits in this chart are based on the binomial distribution (of proportions). Other types of attribute charts are available on the Attributes tab.
Pareto chart analysis
Select Pareto chart analysis and click the OK button to begin this analysis. This analysis produces Pareto charts for all selected variables. You can plot a histogram by category, where the bars in the histogram are sorted in descending order. Such plots allow for the easy identification of the primary sources (categories) of quality problems.
