Replace
You can access the Replace dialog box in the following ways:
- Ribbon bar. Select the Edit tab. In the Find/Replace group, click Replace to display the Replace dialog box.
- Classic menus. On the Spreadsheet Edit menu, select Replace to display the Replace dialog box.
Use these options to replace a value in a case, variable, row, or column.

| Find what | Type a value in the Find what box to specify the value you want to replace. |
| Replace with | Type a value in the Replace with box to specify the new value. |
| Search in | Use the options in the Search in group box to narrow your search/replace operation. |
| Case names | Select the Case names option button to perform a replace function by case name only. |
| Variable names | Select the Variable names option button to perform a replace function by variable name only. |
| Selected Rows | Select the Selected Rows option button to perform a replace function by row (i.e. case, excluding the case name). If a single data cell is selected and this option button is selected, replacements will be made in the entire row. If more than one cell is selected, only the selected cells will be replaced. |
| Selected Columns | Select the Selected Columns option button to perform a replace function by column (i.e. variable, excluding the variable name). If a single data cell is selected and this option button is selected, replacements will be made in the entire column. If more than one cell is selected, only the selected cells will be replaced. |
| Match case | Select the Match case check box to ensure the values being replaced are the same case as the value in the Find what field. |
| Find entire cell only | Select the Find entire cell only check box to narrow the search criteria to replace only the cells whose entire contents exactly match the value entered in the Find what field. |
| Find | Click the Find button to begin your search after you have selected all your options. |
| Replace | Click the Replace button to replace values on an individual basis. |
| Replace All | Click the Replace All button to replace all values which meet your search criteria. |
| Cancel | Click the Cancel button to end the search. |
