SPC Charts - Variance Chart Center Line

Use this tab to define the following parameters:

Element Name Description
Variance Center Line type From this dropdown list, select the Variance centerline type from the following:
  • Calculated centerline
  • Use defined centerline
  • If Use defined centerline is selected, the analysis will look for variables named *_RCENTER for each characteristic (where '*' is the name of the characteristic) and use the value of the variable as the variance Centerline value.
  • Each time the value in the *_RCENTER variable changes moving downward in the column, the system will create a new set on the Variance Chart.
  • If a value in the *_RCENTER variable is blank, the system will use the previous valid value found in the column.
  • If there are no valid values found in the *_RCENTER variable, the Calculated centerline will be used as the variance Centerline value.
Variance Centerline Label type Use this dropdown list to choose from the following Variance Centerline label types:
  • Number only
  • Text only
  • Text and number
  • None
Variance Centerline Label name In this textbox, enter the text for labeling the Variance centerline when Text only or Text and number options are selected.
