Element Name Description
Variables Click this button to display a variable selection dialog, in which you select the independent (grouping) variable and the dependent variable(s).
Codes for: Group 1 The Code fields are available only after variables have been selected. Double-click the Codes for: Group 1 field (or press the F2 key on your keyboard) to display the Variable N dialog (where N is the variable number selected as the grouping variable), in which you select codes from the list of valid variable values.
Group 2 Double-click the Group 2 field (or press the F2 key on your keyboard) to display the Variable N dialog (where N is the variable number selected as the grouping variable), in which you select codes from the list of valid variable values.
M-W U test Click this button to display either a variable selection dialog or the results of the Mann-Whitney U test (if you have already selected the variables). See Nonparametric Statistic Notes - Mann-Whitney U Test for a detailed description of this nonparametric test.
Cancel Click this button to close the dialog and return to the Nonparametric Statistics Startup Panel.
Options Click this button to display the Options menu.
By Group Click this button to display the By Group specification dialog.
Select Cases Click this button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Selection Conditions dialog, which contains options to create conditions for which cases will be included (or excluded) in the current analysis. More information is available in the case selection conditions overview and syntax summary.
W Click this button to display the Analysis/Graph Case Weights dialog, which contains options to adjust the contribution of individual cases to the outcome of the current analysis by weighting those cases in proportion to the values of a selected variable.

p-value for highlighting. The default p-value for highlighting is .05. You can adjust this p-value by entering a new value in the box or using the microscrolls. On the summary spreadsheets, Statistica highlights all p-values that are equal to or less than the value specified in this field. For more details on p-value, see Elementary Concepts.
