Backup of Encryption Settings
In some cases, system related issues such as insufficient disk space, intermittent disk reading failure, etc. may cause TDV server to shut down unexpectedly. During such instances, check the details of the error message and rule out any hardware, software or environment related issues. If the problem persists, contact TDV support.
It is recommended that users backup encryption key periodically. This will help restore data during unforeseen circumstances. There are two ways to backup the encryption settings:
1. Backup through web manager - Refer to Exporting or Importing an Encryption Settings File From Manager for instructions on how to backup the encryption settings using Web manager.
2. Manual backup - After the installation of TDV, manually backup the files boot.properties and encryption.properties to avoid loss of data during unforeseen system issues.
Note that TDV support will need this backup (along with the password you used while creating the backup) in order to help with the issue.
