Appendix: In-Product Activation with License Files
TIBCO product activation can also be performed using a license file that is deployed to the file system where a TIBCO product runs.
When generating a license file using this approach, it must be bound to the host identifier of the system where the TIBCO product runs. To determine the host identifier for this system, download the tib-id utility, which is available from the TIBCO Activation Service download page in the TIBCO Software Downloads site, and install it on your system.
-
When generating a license file for In-Product Activation (local activation), navigate to the Create License dialog and select the Any Host option. This creates an unbounded license file that does not require the TIBCO Activation Service and can be used on any device.
-
You must run and activate your TIBCO product with your generated license file in your system's file system within 7 days after it is generated. If you do not run and activate your TIBCO product within 7 days after your license is generated, you must generate a new license.
-
Activation using license files is supported for the following products:
- TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ 5.16.1
- TIBCO Enterprise Message Service™ 10.4.0
- TIBCO Rendezvous® 8.8.0
- TIBCO FTL® - Enterprise Edition 7.1.0
The generated license file can only be used for activation on the system to which it is bound, and cannot be uploaded to an instance of TIBCO Activation Service. Additionally, the license file must remain on the system on which the TIBCO products are activated as long as the TIBCO products it activates are deployed.
For details on configuring for activation via a license file, see the documentation for your TIBCO product.
