Building Reports Overview
WebFOCUS App Studio provides you with the toolset and resources you need to create, edit, and view reports online or offline. WebFOCUS App Studio allows users from beginner to advanced skill levels to independently create their own reports or modify existing reports without writing complex code or requiring the assistance of IT staff. Once your reports are developed, you can add them to a reporting application that can be made available throughout your enterprise internally, externally to the field on mobile devices, or both. WebFOCUS App Studio allows you to deploy, manage, and expand your reporting application as required.
Business intelligence reports are usually designed to answer such questions as:
- What happened in the first quarter of this year? How does it compare to the first quarter of last year?
- When is the best season to roll out our new inventory to our stores?
- How many products were sold in a given year, month, week, or day?
- Who was the best performing seller for these products?
Reports designed for business analytics can answer such questions as:
- Why did the southern region exceed third quarter revenue estimates?
- Will this event or result occur in the future?
- What will happen if we introduce a new product line in the Spring?
- What else does the data tell us that we never thought to ask?
