The heap dump feature enables you to generate a Java heap dump file directly from the ReportCaster Console, which streamlines the troubleshooting process for certain types of software issues.
When you click the Server Performance button, the Heap Dump button displays. Clicking the Heap Dump drop-down list button gives you the option to create a new heap dump file, or to delete all previous heap dump files.
When you create a heap dump file, a log file is generated, which shows that the heap dump file has been saved to your WebFOCUS software directory. To view this log file, click the Job Log button on the ReportCaster Console ribbon. In the Job Logs panel, click the system folder to display the Java Heap Dump log folder.
