Managing an Entity

With SmartMapper Business UI, you can create, update, and delete entity instances.

1. Log in to SmartMapper Business UI, as described in Logging in to SmartMapper Business UI.
2. Click Entity from the menu.
3. Expand an application and select an entity.
   You are brought to the Entity Management page. All the entity instances are listed in the left panel.

   

4. Do the following steps to update the selected entity:
   • Click in the upper right corner to update display fields of the entity.

     See Changing Display Field for more details.

   • Select check boxes next to entity instances and then click in the left panel.

     The selected entity instances are deleted.

   • Click in the left panel to create an entity instance.

     See Creating an Entity Instance for more details.

   • Click in the Information for panel to update the selected entity instance.

• Changing Display Field
  Values of display fields are bolded and displayed in the first line to represent an object. By default, the system automatically sets up a display field.
• Creating an Entity Instance
  An entity represents a complete key to an object, which is instantiated by providing attribute values.
