Migrating Adapter Projects Created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x to Plug-In Projects
You can migrate a PeopleSoft Adapter and ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project created in TIBCO Designer™ to Plug-in for PeopleSoft on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x or ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Container Edition by using the migration tool in TIBCO Business Studio™ for BusinessWorks™.
Note:
- In addition to the notes mentioned, it is a good practice to review the TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x Migration guide for additional information such as naming conventions, and more.
- Migration is based on the information received from the AE activities. Only Publish to Adapter and Invoke an Adapter Request-Response Service activity is supported. Also, only such Publish to Adapter activity migration is supported which is attached to PeopleSoft Adapter's Subscription Service.
Projects Supported for Migration
Migration is provided for the following project specifications:
Migration Restriction
- You can migrate TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for PeopleSoft projects created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for PeopleSoft. However, vice versa is not possible.
- Migration of Custom AESchema check box in the General Tab of the AE activities is not supported.
- Migration supports only those ActiveMatrix® Adapter for PeopleSoft projects created on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x that have no design time or runtime errors. The projects must be validated and processes must run successfully end to end on ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x before migrating to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for PeopleSoft projects.
- The migration of ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x projects saved as design-time libraries is not supported.
Considerations when migrating projects
- Due to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project structure and the migration process, there are some files in the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project migrated to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x, but are not used and must be ignored. For example, - ae folder and ae2xsd.xsd under Schemas folder, AESchemas folder etc.
- If there is a ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x generic activity that uses the PeopleSoft adapter AE schema in the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project, after migration the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x generic activities must be fixed by running Post-migration feature. If the schema issue still persists then you must fix it manually.
- For migration the command line data option should be used and the user workspace directory and ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x target directory should be the same. For example, bwmigrator.exe -data <user workspace> -projectDir <BusinessWorks 6.x target directory> <BusinessWorks 5.x project location>.
- Migration supports online schema migration, which means it retrieves the schema from the PeopleSoft server during migration for the respective activity. Before migrating a project, ensure that the connection parameters provided are correct in the project or in JSON reference file, otherwise errors might occur post migration.
- Module property is migrated to ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x project only if it is created in the activities of ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project and is referred in one of the ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5.x project or it is referred in JSON file.
- An XSLT out of Sync error occurs in the migrated ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.x project. To resolve this issue, right-click the input mapping and select Show Check and Repair.
- An unexpected output error occurs in the migrated ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ 5.x project. To resolve this issue, right-click the input mapping and select Show Check and Repair.
- An Extra parameter serialized error occurs in the migrated ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks™ 5.x project. To resolve this issue, right click on the error message and click Quick Fix on the Problems tab.
