Installing and Upgrading the Desktop Client

You can use the ClickOnce installation to install the TIBCO® Managed File Transfer Internet Server desktop client.

There are two types of installations offered.
  1. A full installation is offered where you install the desktop client program on to your desktop. When installing the desktop client, you can use the browser one time to install the client, and then access the desktop client through the Start menu.
  2. A cached installation is offered where the desktop client is initiated each time from the browser. When installing the cached desktop client, you must use the browser each time you want to use the desktop client.

Only one type of installation can be used, so choose the one that works best for your environment. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge browsers work best when installing or starting the desktop client. However, newer versions of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox can also be used. For more information, see Installing the Desktop Client and Installing the Cached Desktop Client.

Note: When using a browser to install or start the TIBCO Managed File Transfer (MFT) Internet Server desktop client, the server certificate should be a certificate signed by a known certificate authority. If the certificate is not signed by a known certificate authority, you should add the certificate to the operating system or browser certificate manager.
