Creating Process Variants

Top  Previous  Next

A business process variant is a flow variant of a process that uses the same inputs and provides the same outputs. You can create multiple drill down diagrams from single activities to facilitate process variants. When a user clicks the drill-down on an activity, they will be given a choice of which variant to follow. Normal access rights apply to process variants and if a user does not have access rights to a specific variant then the variant will not be displayed.

One example of a process variant could be the process for booking holiday. You may have one standard process but you want to define slightly different processes based on location. In this example you would create a standard process for booking holiday and then a number of process variants based on country.
