Creating Resources

If creating local resources has been enabled, you can create central and local resources.

Procedure

1.Click the Resources link on the navigation bar.

2.If creating local resources has been enabled, you can select the type of resource you want to create from the drop down at the top left. The options available are Central resources and Local resources.

If you do not select any option, all resources created are central resources.

3.Click Add new resource.

Note: If you want to add the resource to a specific resource group at the same time then select the resource group first.

4.In the Resource name field enter a name for the resource.

5.Select a resource type from the following:

System

Other

 

6.In the Additional information section, you can enter the Display name, Info field 1 and Info field 2 and click Add.

Display name is the name of the resource that is displayed on activities (for example, Supervisor). If this is not defined then the resource name is used.

Info field 1 and Info field 2 allow additional information to be added about the resource, for example department.

Note: In the Additional information section, you can enter the Display name, Info field 1 and Info field 2 in the default language and in a language variant of your choice if you have configured multiple languages. For more information about using multiple languages, see Content Languages. Additional language fields are available only after you have configured a default language and added one other language.
