OpenSpirit enables applications to exchange grids using events. Grids can be broadcast from applications that have been enabled to send OpenSpirit GIS grids, such as Schlumberger's Petrel application. The OpenSpirit extension will listen for and receive GIS grid selection events when connected to OpenSpirit with event listening enabled.
Note,
the OpenSpirit extension's preference
settings can be used to turn off listening for GIS grid selection
events independent of the Toggle Event
Listening button
state.
A progress window will appear while each grid from the received event is being imported into ArcGIS Pro.
The progress window will go away when each grid has been imported. The grid layers created by receiving the event are placed in active map's contents tree under a new group named OpenSpirit Grids.
A raster image file is created for each grid received in the event. The raster image files are created in the working directory that has been set in the OpenSpirit extension's preference settings. An integer counter is appended to the name of any grid that is imported if a grid with the same name already exists.
