The TIBCO StreamBase® Bi-Directional CSV Socket Reader and Writer adapters receive and send data over a socket connection in comma-separated-value (CSV) format. This sample demonstrates how to use the Bi-Direction CSV socket adapter to communicate with the CSVSocketReader and CSVSocketWriter.
The client is configured to receive CSV input using the Bi-Directional CSV Socket adapter, and uses the Bi-Directional CSV Socket Writer to send each incoming tuple to all connections. The server is separated into two parts. The first part, ServerReader, reads data from the client using the CSV Socket Reader. The second part, ServerWriter, writes data back to the client using the CSV Socket Writer. Both the CSVSocketReader and CSVSocketWriter adapter require a connection to the client for this to work because, unlike the Bi-Directional Socket adapter, they do not share a connection.
In StreamBase Studio, import this sample with the following steps:
-
From the top-level menu, select
→ . -
Type

to narrow the list of options. -
Select Bi-Directional CSV Socket Input/Output Adapter from the StreamBase Standard Adapters category.
-
Click OK.
StreamBase Studio creates a single project containing the sample files.
-
In the Project Explorer, open the sample you just loaded.
-
Open the
src/main/eventflow
folder. -
Open the package folder (most samples contain a single package folder. Open the top-level package folder if your sample contains more than one folder).
-
Open the named application file and click the Run button. This opens the SB Test/Debug perspective and starts the application.
If you see red marks, wait a moment for the project in Studio to load its features.
If red marks do not resolve themselves in a moment, select the project and right-click

output streams. -
Select any tuple emitted from either stream and inspect tuple data fields in the Variables view below the output streams to analyze and understand their structure.
-
When done, press F9 or click the Stop Running Application button.
When you load the sample into StreamBase Studio, Studio copies the sample project's files to your Studio workspace, which is normally part of your home directory, with full access rights.
