Differences in design

The following table provides a high-level description of a few key differences between the services.

Separate installer, separate capacity or named-user licensing managed by administrator. Deployed by a set of Spotfire SPK packages in one SDN (Spotfire distribution file). For Linux servers, can be installed to run containerized.

Capacity or named-user licenses managed by Spotfire administrator.

Cluster or stand-alone configuration done on installation. Can run in a cluster or on a single-server deployment.
No containerization support. On a supported Linux operating system, can be run containerized.
TERR engine pool provided; could configure to run with R, SAS, or MATLAB. Can accommodate scripts written in TERR, R, or Python languages. Each language has its own Spotfire Statistics Service, which must have its own node manager. Each service provides for custom configuration.
