Different types of data are shown with a different icon in order to help you to quickly understand what you see.

The icons are used in many different places in Spotfire. For example, when you create a new connection, the icons are visible in the Data Selection in Connection dialog where you can specify which data to include in the connection. The icons are also visible in the Data in analysis flyout when the connection has been created and the data made available in Spotfire.
