Changing the name of a data table

The name of a data table is shown in all data table selectors and it is used as the default name in new table visualizations. If the original data table name is unclear, you may want to change it to a better name. Authors can rename data tables in the Data canvas.

Before you begin

You must have some data loaded in the analysis and the analysis must be in Editing mode.

About this task

Tip: When using the installed client, you can also rename the data table by right-clicking on the data table selector in the Data in analysis flyout and selecting Rename.

Procedure

On the authoring bar, click Data canvas .
Make sure the data table of interest is selected.
This step is only applicable if you have two or more data tables in the analysis.
On the data canvas toolbar, click Rename.
In the popover, type a new name for the data table and click OK.
The data table name is updated.
