Adding a Threshold

You can set a threshold in Spotfire Metrics Modeler to determine when the color of a KPI changes visually in Spotfire Metrics.

Prerequisites

A variance must be defined prior to adding a threshold.

Procedure

When you are configuring measures in the KPI Library, click Add Threshold.
Provide a threshold title.
Set a reference point.

Note: The reference point should be set against a particular KPI or variance and color scheme.
Choose Numbers or Percentages, of which to measure the threshold by, and then enter the value range.
To determine color variation, choose Increasing is Better or Decreasing is Better.
Click Save.

Result

When the threshold appears on a graph, the red threshold line shows the numbers that are below target and the green threshold line shows numbers above target. Numbers within threshold limits are displayed in yellow.
