User Directory Options
Spotfire features the following user directory sources for authentication.
| User directory source | Description |
|---|---|
| Spotfire database | Users are stored in a database and managed using the Spotfire administrative tools. |
| Windows NT | Legacy. Users are managed in a Windows NT domain.
Note: This option does not apply to Linux installations.

| LDAP | Users (and groups, optionally) are managed in an LDAP server (such as Active Directory) and are synchronized with Spotfire database. |
