Getting started
New Spotfire® administrators can begin by learning how a Spotfire® implementation is put together and how it works, and use the Quick Start Guide to begin setting up a pre-production environment. For experienced Spotfire administrators, the Release Notes for each product version describe new features and other changes.
Note: Any updates to this
documentation will be available at

To view the current version of this documentation, click
Help while being logged in to the Spotfire Server
web administration pages in a web browser (if your implementation allows access
to the internet), or you can go to

and choose the version of interest.
Experienced Spotfire administrators:
- To get started, see Upgrading Spotfire.
New Spotfire administrators:
- The
Quick Start Guide provides a short introduction to the
Spotfire environment, and then takes you through the required steps for a
simple
Spotfire
configuration:
Spotfire® Server
on one computer, the
Spotfire® Analyst
client on another, the node manager installed, the
Spotfire® Web Player,
Spotfire® Automation Services,
and, if applicable, the Spotfire® Enterprise Runtime for R - Server Edition
(a/k/a the TERR™ service), the Spotfire Service for R, or the Spotfire Service
for Python (the data function services) available on all network computers, and
user authentication through the
Spotfire
database.
Note: You can also use the Quick Start Guide to complete the initial installation for a more complex implementation. In most cases it is recommended that you have a working basic installation before you add additional servers, load balancers, authentication methods, and so on.
To begin the installation, see the Quick Start Guide, either as an online help or a PDF, at https://docs.tibco.com/products/spotfire-server.
Deployment in Kubernetes:
- To deploy Spotfire® using containers and Helm charts on a Kubernetes cluster you can use the recipes from Cloud Deployment Kit for Spotfire® as they are, or as the starting point for creating your own recipes.
