Switching the Java Development Kit
The Spotfire Server includes the Eclipse Temurin™ OpenJDK. This Java Development Kit is usually the most recent and secure version at the time of the Spotfire Server release. However, if you always want to use the most recent Java version, or if you want to use a Java Development Kit from another vendor, you must upgrade to the newer Java version manually, whenever it is released.
See the Spotfire Server system requirements for information on which Java Development Kit distributions that are supported.
To make a full switch you must do changes for both the server and the node manager.
- Switching to another Java Development Kit for the Spotfire Server
If you want to use a different Java Development Kit than the one included with the installation, you must upgrade the server to the newer Java version manually, whenever it is released. If you run the Spotfire Server as a Windows Service, this procedure must also be repeated when the server is upgraded. - Switching to another Java Development Kit for the node manager
