PI Events Frames Data Overview

PI Event Frames provides you an easy way to capture process events and related system data. You can use it to search these events and return metadata that can be used further to drill down into asset level data and perform analysis to identify system anomalies.

Note: PI Event Frames is a feature of PI Asset Framework that requires a functioning PI Asset server, which has event frame analysis setup. On the client side the PI Asset Framework SDK is required to enable the search on event frames.

PI Event Frames Data has the following types of nodes:

The interactive module and workspace node produce the following outputs on execution of valid queries:

  • PI Event Frames Query: A Statistica spreadsheet containing the serialized version of the event frame search that can be used as input into PI Events Frame Workspace node.
  • PI Event Frames Meta Data: A Statistica spreadsheet containing details about the selected frames or all event frames returned by the search if no specific selections were made in the results panel.
  • PI Assets Query: A Statistica spreadsheet containing the serialized version of assets query, built from the underlying asset attributes in the event frame, that can serve as input to the PI Asset Framework Data module and workspace node.

The workspace node also produces the following outputs on execution of valid query.

  • Downstream document (spreadsheet): This spreadsheet has similar structure to that PI Assets query.

It also generates the above mentioned outputs of the interactive module.
