Specify the Range of Samples for Computing the Set Statistics

Select the Range of consecutive samples option button in the Compute the set from ranges or codes? dialog box, and click the Next button to display the Specify the range of samples for computing the set statistics dialog box. See also, The Nature of Sets.

This option is available only if the current analysis is running in the real time mode, as specified on the Real-time tab of the Startup Panel, and when a Shewhart control chart (e.g., X-bar and R chart) is currently on the screen. After clicking this button, drag the mouse pointer over the range of consecutive samples in the chart to define the range of samples from which to compute the statistics for this set.
From sample
Select the first sample of the range of samples from which to compute the statistics for this set.
To sample
Select the last sample of the range of samples from which to compute the statistics for this set.
Next
Click the Next button to display the next dialog box in the Wizard, Apply the set statistics and specifications to ranges or . . ..
Back
Click the Back button to close this dialog box and return to the Compute the set from ranges or codes? dialog box.
Cancel
Click the Cancel button to close the Wizard and return to the Results dialog box.
