GRM Results

Click the OK button on the GRM Quick Specs dialog to display the GRM Results dialog. This dialog contains eight tabs: Quick, Summary, Means, Comps, Profiler, Resids, Matrix, and Report. This dialog is also displayed when you click the OK (Run) button on either the GRM Analysis Wizard Between Design dialog, the GRM Analysis Wizard Extended Options dialog, or the GRM Analysis Syntax Editor dialog.

The tabs and options available on this dialog are almost identical to those described for STATISTICA General Linear Models; see the GLM Results dialog (for an overview, see also Methods for analysis of variance). The differences pertain to the different types of analyses which are available in GRM, and not available in GLM, and vice versa; specifically:

  • GRM contains options for reviewing the results for the model building computations (i.e., stepwise, best subset); see the Summary tab.
  • Within-subject (repeated measures) designs cannot be analyzed in GRM, the options for displaying results for those effects (e.g., univariate and multivariate results for repeated measures effects; M transformation matrices, etc.) are not available.
  • Designs with random effects cannot be analyzed in GRM, the options for displaying results for those effects (e.g., estimation of variance components, denominator synthesis; expected mean squares, etc.) are not available.

The Quick tab is used to produce summaries of the main results, for example, the summary of the model building computations (stepwise, best subset, etc.) and ANOVA tables. The Summary tab is used to produce additional summaries of the main results, for example, parameter estimates, R-square, descriptive statistics, etc. The Means tab is used to compute (1) observed unweighted means, (2) observed weighted means, and (3) least squares (predicted) means; tables of marginal means can be displayed in spreadsheets or summarized in graphs. The Comps tab is used to test specific hypotheses about linear combinations of (least squares) means (planned comparisons). The Profiler tab is used to compute and display desirability profiles for combinations of multiple variables. The Resids tab is used to compute predicted values and detailed residual statistics (e.g., residual, deleted residuals, Mahalanobis distance, leverage values, DFFITS values, etc.). The Matrix tab is used to review various matrices involved in the computations of the main results, as well as detailed collinearity statistics and partial and semi-partial (or part) correlations. Finally, the Report tab is used to send results to a report.
