Plot: Point Labels (3D XYZ Graphs)
These options are available in the Point Labels dialog box as well as on the Point Labels tab of the Graph Options dialog box. Use these options to place labels (either the coordinates of the points or text labels) over individual data points in your 3D XYZ graph.
- Plot
- Although all of the options are the same for each plot, you can make changes to each plot independently of the other. Use the Plot drop-down box to select the plot to which you want to make changes. If you have several plots in one graph, you assign names to each plot using the Name field on the Plot: General tab.
- Display point labels
- Select the Display point labels check box to display the point labels in the currently specified plot. Note that the Markers option on the General tab must also be selected in order to display the point labels.
- Font
- Click the Font button to display the Font dialog box, from which you can choose a different font (e.g., size, type, etc.) for the point labels.
- Properties
- The options in the Properties group determine what will be included from the check boxes: Text labels, X, Y, Z to form a point label. You can also specify the value format that will be used for numeric labels.
- Text labels
- Select the Text labels check box to use strings of text for the point labels. By default, the strings of text used will be the numbered cases (e.g., Case 1, Case 2, . . .) in the plot In the spreadsheet below, you can edit the text labels for the plot so that they are more meaningful.
- Value Format
- Click the Value Format button to display the Value Format dialog box, which is used to select from a variety of value formats to use for the numeric labels, including General, Number, Date, Time, Scientific, Currency, Percentage, Fraction or Custom. For more information on value formats, see Value Format.
- X, Y, and Z; Weight
- You can select to display one or more of the X, Y, and Z coordinates by appropriately selecting the X, Y, and Z check boxes; select the Weight check box to also use the values of the Case weights as labels for the points. See Spreadsheet Case Weights and Analysis/Graph Case Weights for further details. When displaying numbers, you can specify the value format using the Value Format button (above).
Mini-formatting toolbar. The mini-formatting toolbar provides quick access to options for customizing the point labels. Using these buttons, you can change the font attributes to bold or italics, etc. A listing and a brief description of each of these mini-formatting toolbar buttons is available in Mini-Formatting Toolbar.
- Point label spreadsheet
- The current point labels will be shown in this spreadsheet, you can edit point labels by typing directly into the spreadsheet. The point labels can also be edited by using the edit toolbar buttons available on the top of this spreadsheet.
