Specify Initial Step Sizes
Click the Initial step sizes button on the Model Estimation dialog box - Advanced tab to display the Specify initial step sizes dialog box. Use these options to enter the step size values for each parameter, or one common value for all parameters.
The step size values are used during the initial iterations to "scale" the problem, that is, to determine by how much to move each parameter. The exact impact of these values on the estimation depends, among other things, on the estimation method that is selected.
Element Name | Description |

Individual Step Size Values | These boxes list a constant (B0) and each of the independent variables. You can change the step size values for each of these variables individually in these boxes by entering a new value or using the microscrolls to adjust the value. |
OK | Click the OK button to accept the values entered in the Specify initial step sizes dialog box. |
Cancel | Click the Cancel button to return to the Model Estimation dialog box. Any values entered in the Specify initial step sizes dialog box will be ignored. |
Common Value | Enter a step size value in the Common Value box (or use the microscrolls to adjust the value) to be used for each of the independent variables and B0. |
Apply | Click the Apply button to copy the value entered in the Common Value box to the individual step size values boxes. |
