Model Estimation

Select the desired regression model via the Nonlinear Estimation Startup Panel - Quick tab, select variables via the standard variable selection dialog box (or specify the regression equation and the loss function via the Estimated function and loss function dialog box if you select User-specified regression, custom loss function as the regression model), and click the OK button to display the Model Estimation dialog box, which contains three tabs: Quick, Advanced and Review.

Use the Model Estimation dialog box to specify the estimation method, number of iterations, and convergence criterion, as well as to select other options. A summary of the model and parameters established so far in the analysis is also displayed in this dialog.

Element Name Description
Summary box The Summary box at the top of the dialog box displays your choices for the regression model, i.e., number of parameters, loss function, dependent variable, codes, independent variables, missing data deletion, and the number of valid cases.
Copy button Click the Copy button to copy either the selected text (if text has been selected) in the Summary box or all of the text (if no text has been selected) to the Clipboard. Note that the copied text retains formatting information (such as font, color, etc.).
Contract/Expand button Click the Contract/Expand button to contract or expand the Summary box. When contracted, you can see only one line of the Summary box text and can scroll through the text using a scroll bar. Note that when contracted the text is scrolled so that the first non-blank line is at the top. When expanded (the default setting), the entire Summary box will be displayed.
OK Click the OK button to display the Nonlinear Estimation Results dialog box.
Cancel Review your selections for the regression model in the Summary box (see above), and if you want to modify them, click the Cancel button to return to the previous dialog box in order to make changes.
Options Click the Options button to display the Options menu.
