MARSplines Results - Custom Predictions Tab

Select the Custom predictions tab of the Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines (MARSplines) Results dialog box to access the options described here.

A frequent requirement is to perform "What-if?" analyses, where you want to know what would happen if some changes were made to a particular predictor case. This tab is designed to perform this type of analysis where you can verify the response of your MARSplines model given input cases of your choice.

The input spreadsheet shows the input cases for the custom predictions you have performed. To make a custom prediction see Predict dependent variable below.

Element Name Description
User defined case Click this button to display a standard user input spreadsheet, which is used to assign values of your choice to the independent variables.
Predictions Click this button to display a Custom predictions spreadsheet, which is used to enter values for each independent variable to calculate the predicted values for the dependent variables based on the current model. The independent and predicted values will then be displayed in an output spreadsheet.
