Activity Monitor of a Metaspace

The activity monitor can be used to see how some operations were performing over a point in time.

The activity monitor provides a set of charts capturing the historical statistics of the activities on a space operation that are performed by members of a metaspace. The statistics is gathered continuously over time and aggregated on the server.

The following set of activities can be monitored:
  • Space Put and Take Operations
  • Space Get and Query Operations
  • Average Get Throughput
  • Average Put Throughput
  • Average Member Get Latency
  • Average Member Put Latency

The recent statistics is always displayed on the rightmost pane for each data series. Data is captured periodically in regular intervals on the ASMM server. Each graph is a view that continuously rolls to present near real-time data. You are presented with a graphical view of the statistics on the browser based on the selected category of activities. Each presented graph contains a fixed number of data points based on the selected time periods.

You can view the historical data of the operations mentioned in the bulleted list over the following periods in time:
  • last 10 minutes
  • last 1 hour
  • last 4 hours
  • last day
For example, you can see the Space Put and Take Operations of the last 1 hour.
