About storyboard management |

Storyboards are managed and controlled in the same way as process maps and diagrams.
Draft Storyboards Draft storyboards are directly linked to the activities and diagrams in live process maps (these can be either draft or master diagrams). If changes are made to the live diagrams then these will be updated in related draft storyboards until authorization is requested, at which point the first snapshot is taken.
Master Storyboards Master storyboards are 'locked down' and any changes to corresponding diagrams will not be reflected in a master storyboard until the storyboard is promoted again.
Publishing Storyboards There are two ways to publish a storyboard, either manually or through an authorization cycle. When a storyboard is published, a 'locked down' snapshot of the storyboard is created. This snapshot includes copies of all of the data, such as diagrams, data table attachments, document attachments, etc.
Storyboards in the Web Only published storyboards can be viewed in the web. Both draft and master storyboard versions are viewable if available and the user has sufficient access rights to view both copies.
Mobile Storyboard Players When a new snapshot is created, it will be automatically made available to download in the Nimbus players too (for all of the supported languages and devices). During the publishing process, the existing draft snapshot and existing Nimbus player packages are deleted and replaced with the new snapshots. Note that a storyboard will only be available to download in a mobile device if the Available for offline viewers option is selected in the properties of the storyboard. Only master storyboards are available for download.
Migrating Storyboards When migrating data from a previous major version (prior to v9.3), draft snapshots will be created for all existing storyboards. This means that the storyboards will still be accessible as they were in the previous version. Any storyboards previously published for the Nimbus Players will still be available to download on mobile devices.
Data Table Attachments There are two options in data table attachments that relate to storyboards. You can either maintain live links of a data table attachment. In this option, any updates to an associated data table will be reflected in the storyboard. The alternative option is to store a static copy of the data table attachment, in which case a copy of the data table is made accessible and any updates to the data table will not be reflected in the storyboard. See Creating data tables for more information.
Statement Links Statement links in storyboard snapshots are live links, meaning copies of statement links are not stored and therefore any changes to associated statements will be reflected in the storyboard. |
