Administration
This section collects various tools that you can use for administration from within the installed Spotfire client.
As a Spotfire platform administrator, you might also have access to the Spotfire Server and various services. See the Spotfire® Server and Environment - Installation and Administration guide for more information.
- Administration Manager
The Administration Manager is a tool that allows administrators to set up preferences for groups, and import and export users and groups. The Administration Manager provides tools to handle users and groups, and publish new updates to the Spotfire Server. All other administrative functions that were previously performed in the Administrator Manager can be performed in the web interface of Spotfire Server. - Library administration
The Spotfire system features a library. Using the Spotfire library, people can publish and share all their analysis material, data connections, information links, data sources, and so on. The Spotfire library contains a folder structure where you can set permissions on folder level. - Spotfire Qualification
Spotfire Qualification allows you to verify that an analysis in Spotfire yields the same results on different installations of Spotfire - that is, on other computers, between development/test/production environments, or after upgrading Spotfire. Spotfire Qualification includes an export tool that exports all parts of a Spotfire analysis. The first export is verified manually, and when the export is verified to be correct, it is used as a gold standard. The Spotfire Qualification compare tool then compares that gold standard with other comparison exports, reporting the differences between the exports. - Application Profiler
The Application Profiler is used to gather information about analysis files. Given a set of files, local or from the library, the tool loads each file and outputs a number of data tables in STDF files (for example, one with one row per analysis file, one with one row per data table, and one with one row per visualization). The Application Profiler is a useful tool before or after applying a hotfix or upgrading to a major release of Spotfire. As the output from the tool can be examined, it lets you monitor whether any visualizations or other parts of the analysis appear or behave differently over time (for example: How many visualizations do the analyses have? Has the total rendering time changed over the last three months? Has there been any changes in the time it takes to load data in a specific analysis?). The application profiler can only be used in the installed client.
