System requirements for TIBCO Spotfire® Automation Services – Service, version 7.9.x


Hardware
Processor	Minimum: 2 cores, (Intel Core i3 or equivalent) 2 GHz, 64-bit Recommended: 4 cores or more (Intel Xeon E5 or equivalent), 2 GHz or higher, 64-bit Note: As a guideline, it is recommended to have at least one core per concurrent Automation Services job (controlled by the maxConcurrentJobs setting - by default, maxConcurrentJobs will be set to the number of cores on the machine). Once that has been met, in general your performance will benefit more from higher clock speed than additional cores.
RAM	Minimum: 16 GB Recommended: 16 to ~50 GB per instance. If more than 50 GB RAM is available per instance, it is generally more beneficial to add an additional instance. The minimum amount of RAM is normally sufficient for standard usage. For production servers, more memory may be needed if you are running many concurrent jobs and/or using analysis files with a large memory footprint. Contact TIBCO for further assistance with this.
Hard disk space	Minimum: 10 GB Recommended: 10 GB is recommended for installation and normal use. If you are running many concurrent jobs and/or using very large analysis files, more space may be needed


Software
Operating system	The following operating systems are supported: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or higher Note: Only 64-bit versions of the operating systems are supported.
Microsoft .NET Framework	Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.5.x (4.5.2 and higher), 4.6.x Note: On Microsoft Windows Server 2012 (all variants), Microsoft .NET Framework version 3.5 must be enabled as well. Note: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.x works side by side with older Framework (3.5 and earlier) versions, but performs an in-place update for .NET Framework 4. Note: Microsoft .NET Framework requires Administrator rights to complete installation.
TIBCO Spotfire software	Connection to a TIBCO Spotfire Server 7.9.x, with a TIBCO Spotfire 7.9.x deployment. Note: It is recommended to run the TIBCO Spotfire Automation Services Service on a dedicated system (physical or virtual) - not shared with a TIBCO Spotfire® Server or other applications.
Installation permissions	TIBCO Spotfire Automation Services Service 7.9.x must be installed under a Windows user account with full administrative privileges.
Microsoft Office (Optional)	The following versions of Microsoft Office are supported for Office-dependent functionality: Microsoft Office 365 Microsoft Office 2016, 32-bit and 64-bit versions Microsoft Office 2013, 32-bit and 64-bit versions Microsoft Office 2010, 32-bit and 64-bit versions Note: Microsoft Office must be installed to use Spotfire Automation Services functionality that integrates with Office products, such as importing data from Microsoft Access or importing data from older Excel file version. An alternative to installing Microsoft Office is to only install the drivers: Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components (also referred to as "Microsoft Access Database Engine").
Connectors (Optional)	If you are using Spotfire Connectors to access data in external systems, note that additional system requirements might apply, including that a data source driver for the connector typically must be installed.
