System requirements for connectors in TIBCO Spotfire® 11.3

Requirements that apply to all connectors

To use connectors that require a data source driver, the driver must be installed on the computer that is running the connector.

That means that if you want to work with a connector using the web client, or using Automation Services, you must install the driver on the computer running the Web Player or Automation Services service.

Note: The Spotfire Hortonworks connector can be used to connect to other Apache Hive data sources. Also, you can connect to Cloudera Hive with the Hortonworks connector, if the Cloudera ODBC Driver is installed.
