System requirements for Spotfire® Web Player version 14.1

Hardware
Processor
  • Minimum: 2 cores (Intel Core i3 or equivalent), 2 GHz, 64-bit
  • Recommended: 6 cores or more (Intel Xeon E5 or equivalent), 2 GHz or higher, 64-bit
Note: Only amd64 (also known as x64, x86_64) architecture is supported.
RAM
  • Minimum: 16 GB per instance
  • Recommended: 16 to ~50 GB per instance. If more than 50 GB RAM is available per instance, it is generally more beneficial to add an additional instance.
The minimum amount of RAM is only suitable for basic test systems, or systems with very few simultaneous users. Production servers with large analyses and/or many simultaneous users will require significantly more RAM. Contact Spotfire for further assistance with this.
Hard disk space
  • Minimum: 10 GB
  • Recommended: At least two times the RAM size as available disk space.
Note: The Web Player service will use the hard disk for temp files, paging, and caching (scheduled updates caching and SBDF caching).

Spotfire software Connection to a Spotfire® Server 14.1.x, with a Spotfire 14.1.x deployment.
Note: For production environments, we strongly advise that you deploy each of the different types of Spotfire services on separate, dedicated computers (physical computers, virtual machines, or containers).

If you still decide to deploy different services on the same computer (for example, for testing purposes), you must manage the resource allocation of the processes so they do not conflict with each other.

Installation privileges on Windows On Windows: The Spotfire Web Player service 14.1.x must be installed under a Windows user account with full administrative privileges.
Microsoft Office (optional)

To use Spotfire functionality that integrates with Microsoft Office products, such as exporting to PowerPoint, importing data from Access, and importing data from older versions of Excel, Microsoft Office must be installed.

The following versions of Microsoft Office are supported:

  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Office 2019, 64-bit version
  • Microsoft Office 2016, 64-bit version
  • Microsoft Office 2013, 64-bit version

Connectors (optional)

If you are using Spotfire connectors to access data in external systems, note that additional system requirements might apply, including that a data source driver for the connector typically must be installed.

For detailed information and system requirements for all connectors included in Spotfire 14.1.x, see System Requirements for Spotfire® Connectors.
