Script language
You can create a script that runs multiple commands.
Below is a short reference to help creating valid and readable scripts.
# | If a hash is the first character on a line,
the line is a comment.
Example:
|
set | Defines a variable. The variable name and the
value must be separated by an equal character (=).
Example:
|
${Variable} | Substitutes the dollar sign and curly braces
with the variable value.
If there is no matching variable, there is no substitution. Example:--tool-password="${PASSWORD}"
|
\ | The logical line continues on the next line.
Example: |
echo | Writes to console.
Example:
|
Empty rows are allowed |
Note: Paths and comments
that include spaces must be enclosed in straight quotation marks ("). More
advanced text editors may change straight quotation marks to smart quotation
marks, resulting in errors when the commands are run.
