Adding a name or description to a version
When library version history is enabled, you can name a specific version, or add a comment to it, to easily determine the content or status of that particular version of a file.
About this task
Tip: When a version has been named or commented, you can
search for a particular word in the name or comment of the latest version
available using the search keywords
version_name
or
version_comment
. Use wildcards (*) to search for a
word within a longer phrase.
Before you begin
Procedure
- Log in to the Spotfire Server web administration pages and click Library.
- Browse or search for the file of interest.
- Right-click the row of the item and select View version history, or open the details panel and click Version history.
- In the Version history list to the right, click on the menu at the end of the row of the version of interest and select Edit name and comment.
- Enter a Version name and/or a Comment and click Save.
