Command-based library administration tasks
Most library administration tasks are performed in the installed Spotfire client. These include structuring the library and its contents, and setting permissions for library folders. The tasks listed here either can be performed only in Spotfire Server, or can be performed in the server (as well as in the installed Spotfire client) for administrators who prefer using the command line.
For information about library administration in the installed Spotfire client, see the Spotfire User Guide.
- Importing library content by using the command line
Instead of using the Library Administration tool in the installed Spotfire client, you can import content to the library by using the command line. - Exporting library content by using the command line
Instead of using the Library Administration tool in the installed Spotfire client, you can export content from the library by using the command line. - Changing the configuration for library compression
By default, library items created by users of the installed Spotfire client or the web client, or items that are imported into the Spotfire library, are compressed using the gzip format. When upgrading from an older version without compression, items that are currently stored in the Spotfire library in an uncompressed format will be compressed in the background over time. This design provides an efficient use of library space, whether the library is stored in the Spotfire database or if you are using external storage. However, there might be some item types that you do not want to compress in the library, or you might want to switch off compression altogether. - Configuring an email notification
You can configure email notifications by setting up recipient lists, choosing which job statuses to notify about (all, failed, and successful), and you can review detailed email content that includes job information. - Configuring an HTTP notification
You can configure HTTP notifications by specifying the HTTP host, selecting which job statuses to notify (all, failed, and successful), and reviewing JSON payload that includes job information. - Library content storage outside of the Spotfire database
To minimize the size of your Spotfire database, you can store your organization's Spotfire library content (analyses and analysis data) in the cloud using different solutions, or in a file system elsewhere.
