Creating groups

You always create a group at the top level of the groups hierarchy, but it can later be moved to be a subgroup of an existing group. A subgroup inherits access to all the licenses of its parent group or groups. (To import and export groups, use the Administrator Manager in Spotfire Analyst.)

About this task

Note that inherited licenses are disabled by default, and will need to be enabled.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Spotfire Server web administration pages and click Groups.
  2. On the Groups page, click Create group.
  3. In the Create group dialog, enter a name for the group and click Save.

(Optional) Assign preferences to the group. Preferences are set in the Administration Manager in Spotfire Analyst.
