Installing the Spotfire client
The installed Spotfire client is a fully-featured client for working with data sources and creating complex analyses. It is installed on a user's local computer. You can install the installed Spotfire client either interactively, by running the setup-shared-computer-<version>.exe file, or silently, either on the command line or by using a software distribution system.

It is recommended to run the same version of the Spotfire installed client and Spotfire Server in production environments. However, it is possible to connect to the server using a newer or an older client version. This facilitates upgrading or downgrading the client packages and helps ensuring that the same version is used by the clients and the selected deployment area on the server.
