Spotfire Server and Environment - Quick Start

License feature reference

The following topics describe the features that are contained in each Spotfire license. When you enable licenses, you can enable or disable individual features of the license.

When users run Spotfire, license features that are not enabled for them are either not displayed in the interface, or they appear grayed out.

Related commands: list-licenses, show-licenses

At a high level, the mapping between user roles and licences is as follows:

  • An Analyst is anyone with one or more license features in the Analyst group switched on. Often, the Analyst also has most features under the Business Author, Consumer, Enterprise Player and Advanced Analytics groups switched on, see Spotfire Analyst license for details.
  • A Business Author is anyone with one or more licenses in the Business Author group switched on and with all Analyst licenses switched off. Often, the Business Author also has most licenses under the Consumer and Enterprise Player groups, and some licenses under the Advanced Analytics group switched on, see Spotfire Business Author license for details.
  • A Consumer is anyone with one or more license features in the Consumer or Enterprise Player group switched on and with all Business Author and Analyst features switched off, see Spotfire Consumer license for details.
