Spotfire Server and Environment - Quick Start

Searching the library

You can search for items in the library directly using the name or keywords of the item, using quick filters, or using search expressions.

About this task

Most of the Spotfire library administration is done using the Library administration tool, found under Tools > Library administration in Spotfire Analyst, but you can use the Spotfire Server web administration pages to locate, inspect, copy or move items, or handle the version history of items.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Spotfire Server web administration pages and click Library.
  2. Use one of the methods below to search.
    • Option 1: Type the name or a part of the name of the item directly in the search field.
    • Option 2: Click Filters and use one or more of the available fields to search for items of a specific type, or items modified during a specified time period, etc. The corresponding expression will be shown in the search field.
    • Option 3: Type a search expression directly, as exemplified in Searching the Library in the Spotfire Clients User Guide. The search expression can contain combinations of multiple search keywords and text, to locate exactly the item you are looking for.
Tip: When searching in the server library page, the browser path is automatically updated to include your search, so you can easily copy the URL to a specific search and share it with others. You can also manually add specific search terms to a library path, if desired.
Example of a path with a search for the keyword 'FeaturedAnalysis':
      https://my-server.my-company.com/spotfire/ui/library/browse/{server id}?q=keywords:FeaturedAnalysis
Example of a path with a search for items modified by the user 'cert_user' and also has the word 'sales' in the beginning of title:
      https://my-server.my-company.com/spotfire/ui/library/browse/{server id}?q=modified_by:cert_user%20sales
