Element Name | Description |
---|---|
Variables | Click the Variables button to display a two-list variable selection dialog box. In order to perform PCA in a meaningful way, it is necessary to select at least two variables. Note that you can mix continuous and categorical predictor variables in one analysis. |
Factor codes | This option is available after variables have been selected and only if they include at least one categorical variable. Click this button to display the Select factor codes dialog box, which contains options to select codes for the categorical factors. The list of codes can be displayed by clicking the Zoom button in the Select factor codes dialog box. Note that you must select at least two codes for the selected categorical factor. |
Test sample | Click this button to display the Test sample identifier dialog box, where you can select a sample identifier variable and a code for that variable that uniquely identify the data cases to be used as the test sample. The test sample will not be used by the analysis for building (training) the model. Rather, it is used as an independent sample for checking the validity of the model and testing the accuracy of its prediction on unseen data. |
