Brushing Commands
The Brushing Commands dialog box is displayed when you access the Brushing option on the results dialog boxes from various analyses. This dialog box contains options specific to the graph that is being reviewed and/or brushed using this tool.
For example, if you click the Brush Trees button on the Summary tab of the Results dialog box of the General Regression and Classification Trees (GC&RT) module, you can review the details of the tree graph using the standard brushing tools. Typically:
- You can hover with the crosshair cursor over a location or item of interest, to bring up a tool-tips window with summary information or statistics.
- You can select a particular item, box, point, etc. in the graph by clicking on it.
- You can apply modification to or select results for highlighted items by selecting an option from the right-mouse menu; those options are typically duplicated on this dialog.
Cancel
Click the Cancel button to return to the results dialog box from which you invoked the brushing mode without altering any selections in that dialog box.
Quality Control Charts
In the real-time auto update mode (see the Real-time tab of the Quality Control Charts Startup Panel), you can interactively brush the points on all variable control charts. The options available in this dialog box are identical to those described on the Brushing tab of the Results dialog box. Use this tool to select or deselect interactively the samples to be brushed ( to be excluded from computations, or to be annotated with a comment). Move the brushing cursor over the desired point and click the mouse button to select or deselect it. If you hover for a moment over a point, a balloon-help will pop up with various summary statistics. The contents of the balloon help can be configured on the Labeling tab of the Options dialog box.
The selected brushing action ( Exclude from computations, Assign/remove cause) will be applied to all highlighted (selected) points.
