Reviewing Variable Control Charts, Moving Average Charts, and X & Moving Range Charts Results
Control Charts for Variables vs. Charts for Attributes
After selecting an analysis from the Quality Control Charts Startup Panel and selecting the appropriate options in the Defining Variables for dialog box, click the OK button to display the Results dialog box, which contains seven tabs: Charts, X-specs, R/S-specs, Sets, Brushing, Non-Normal, and Report.
If you are creating Short Run charts, there is a Parts tab instead of the Non-Normal tab. With minor differences, these tabs are identical regardless of whether an R or S chart was chosen as the variability chart and regardless of whether an X-bar or Moving Average chart was created.
- Options
- Click this button to display the Options dialog box. Except for a few minor differences, the options for variable charts are the same as the options for attribute charts.
- Save As
- Click this button to display the Select specifications to be saved dialog box. Click OK in this dialog box to display a standard Save as dialog box, which is used to save the current settings and options as an *.ini file.
- Brush
- Click this button to examine points (samples) graphically via STATISTICA's brushing mode. Once the button has been clicked, move the mouse pointer over an individual point in the chart and it will change into a cross-hair. A balloon-help info box with sample statistics will also be displayed (provided you have specified statistics to display on the Stats tab of the Options dialog box).
- Update
- Click this button to update the charts using the current specifications. Note that this option is available only if the current chart was created in auto-update mode. See the description of the respective options on the Real-time tab of the Quality Control Charts Startup Panel for details.
- Lock
- Click this button to display the Locking Analysis for Shop Floor dialog box, which is used to lock the specified options (see the Shop Floor tab of the Options dialog box) so that they cannot be changed on the shop floor without a password. If the options have already been locked, this button will read Unlock. A password is generally required to unlock the options. Note that the locking and unlocking of options will apply to all projects currently on the screen.
- By Group
- Click the By Group button to display the By Group specification dialog box.
- Cancel
- Click this button to return to the previous dialog box.
